On April 28th, the Governor of Kostanay Mr. Arkhimed Mukhambetov, Kazinform with his fellows site visits UE’s Ybyrai 50MW Wind Power Project, The Plant Manager Almat received them and reported the construction schedule, on-site epidemic prevention solutions to the governor and the accompanied guests. The Governor expressed his best wishes on project’s successful commissioning, and is ready to offer his help if Chinese Engineers couldn’t come to project site due to COVID-19.

The Ybyrai 50MW Project is the first wind power project in Kostanay State, which is also in the list of ‘China-Kazakhstan Production and Investment Cooperation Key Projects’. The project officially started construction in September 2019. In late April, with the joint efforts of UE, Envision, Zhongdian Huayun and other companies, the first batch of wind turbines has departed from China to Kazakhstan, overcoming the transport difficulties during epidemic periods.

The wind turbine hoisting work is expected to start in early July and the project aims to connect to the grid by the end of 2020. After the project is completed, the annual power generation will be 190 million kWh, reducing 141,500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
