Nan Yi, Chairman of Universal Energy was invited to attend the Presidential Round Table

On September 10-12, 2019, at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, the newly elected President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made his first state visit to China. As one of the supporting activities of this visit, on the morning of September 11, the Sixth Meeting of the China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneur Committee and the Presidential Round Table were held in Beijing. President Tokayev gave a welcome speech, Nan Yi, Chairman and CEO of Universal Energy, was invited to attend the meeting and made a speech. Seven representatives of large Chinese enterprises were invited to speak and Chairman Nan Yi is the only private entrepreneur.

In the opening of the roundtable discussion, President Tokayev emphasized that over the 27 years between Kazakhstan and China, exemplary relationships have developed, and a comprehensive strategic partnership has been strengthened, while the basis of which is a constant and trusting dialogue at the highest level. The meeting, according to the President, will be a concrete step towards deepening the trade and economic partnership between Kazakhstan and China. 

While in Chairman Nan Yi's speech, he introduced Universal Energy's development and investment status in Kazakhstan, and expressed his sincere gratitude to governments and leaders at all levels of Kazakhstan, especially Prime Minister Ma Ming. Kazakhstan's favorable business environment has also greatly improved the investment process. Adding to current investment, UE will actively participate in the transformation progress of the local power grid, energy storage and other areas, to enhance the stability of renewable energy power supply. Finally, he made a suggestion on speeding up the progress of opening direct flights between Shanghai and Kazakh to facilitate economic and trade exchanges and personnel exchanges. After the roundtable Chairman Nan Yi accepted an interview from Khabar TV, one of the official media accompanying President Tokayev to China. 

The China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneur Committee was jointly established by the industrial and commercial circles of China and Kazakhstan in 2012. So far, the Committee meeting has been successfully held for five times, and has become the highest-level and most influential event in China and Kazakhstan. More than 300 political and business people from China and Kazakhstan and domestic and foreign entrepreneurs attended the meeting this time. 

On September 11, 2019, Chinese President Xi Jinping holds a welcome ceremony for Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev before their talks at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The two heads of state signed a joint statement between China and Kazakhstan after the conversation. They also attended a signing ceremony for a number of bilateral cooperation agreements.
