Jiang Wei, Chinese Consul General in Almaty, visits UE's solar power plant in Kazakhstan

On the morning of September 8th, Chinese Consul General Jiang Wei led a team to Almaty, Kazakhstan to inspect the Kapchagay 100MWp solar power project invested and constructed by UE.

Jiang Wei conducted on-site inspections of the operation of the solar power plant. She viewed power generation data and equipment operation through real-time monitoring platforms, and learned about the operation of equipment and systems in the photovoltaic plant area. Jiang Wei kindly inquired about the work and life situation of the operation and maintenance personnel, as well as their feelings about working.

UE’manager introduced the company's business in Kazakhstan and Central Asia to Jiang Wei, and stated that the company would continue to deepen its efforts in the local new energy market with Kazakhstan's "dual carbon" goals as its policy, and provide stable, low-cost renewable clean energy for the local.

Jiang Wei fully affirmed the development achievements of UE in Kazakhstan and pointed out that renewable energy was an important area of cooperation between China and Kazakhstan. As a representative of private enterprises, UE not only applies renewable energy power generation technology locally, but also drives a group of domestic related enterprises to "go global", and cultivates a professional operation and maintenance team in Kazakhstan.

She encourages UE to actively seize the current development opportunities of the new energy market, actively participate in the construction of the green energy system in Kazakhstan, provide more clean energy to the local people with advanced Chinese technology and equipment, and contribute to the high-quality joint construction of the "Green Silk Road" between China and Kazakhstan.

The Kapchagay 100MWp solar power plant is one of the largest solar power generation projects in Kazakhstan. The power plant was connected to the grid and put into operation in September 2019, achieving a breakthrough in the local large-scale new energy power plant from scratch. Since its operation, the power plant has provided clean and green electricity to surrounding cities and industries. The annual power generation of 160 million kilowatt hours is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 50000 households in Kazakhstan, and it can also reduce carbon emissions by 160000 tons for the local area.

At present, UE has invested in the construction of 10 new energy power plant projects with an installed capacity of 630MW in Kazakhstan, including 6 operational projects including Kapchagay 100MWp solar power plant, which have been included in the "Key Projects List of China-Kazakhstan Capacity Cooperation".
