Driving Green Transition with Renewable Energy
Deepening its footprint in overseas markets, Universal Energy has made significant strides in energy cooperation along the Belt and Road. In Kazakhstan, the company achieved full-grid connection for multiple new energy projects and secured a 1GW wind power and 600MWh energy storage project. Notably, the non-recourse financing for Mezgilder Qushteri 100MW wind power project, supported by China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation's "dual 95" coverage, marked the first successful financing structure of its kind for a private Chinese enterprise in the new energy sector.
Construction is progressing on Uzbekistan's first RMB-denominated 500MW wind project and Azerbaijan's 100MW solar power project. As of end-2025, the company's global portfolio of connected, constructed, and under-construction renewable energy plants reached 3.85GW. These operational power plants have cumulatively reduced carbon emissions by 8 million tons, supplying clean energy equivalent to the annual household needs of 700,000 families and illuminating the Green Silk Road.
Venturing into Uncharted Territory in Energy Storage
In energy storage innovation, Wontai Power's R&D team achieved a breakthrough single-cell current density of 500 mA/cm², setting a new industry record and providing a solution for high-power-density vanadium flow batteries. The company strengthened its intellectual property, filing a total of 169 vanadium-related patent applications by end-2025, covering the entire chain from material preparation to system integration.
The vanadium battery industrial layout accelerated: the Jiuquan electrolyte factory reached full capacity, and the Qingyang high-purity vanadium plant neared trial production. The company has now formed a complete industrial chain, with an annual production capacity of 3,000 tons of high-purity vanadium, 20,000 cubic meters of electrolyte, and 400MW of battery systems, advancing the industry towards greater safety, economy, and reliability.
Fulfilling Corporate Responsibility for a Harmonious Society
While creating commercial value, Wontai Group actively gives back to society. Following the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Dingri County, Tibet, the company immediately donated 1 million yuan to support rescue and reconstruction efforts. It also contributed to rural revitalization through paired assistance in Gansu Province of China.
To foster people-to-people connectivity, the company promotes local employment through project construction in host countries and engages with communities. In Kazakhstan's Munayshy village, it participated in traditional festivals and launched a "Road to School" educational support initiative.
