Universal Energy Grid-Connects 100MW of New Wind Projects in Kazakhstan

On June 24, two wind power projects invested and constructed by Universal Energy in Kazakhstan – Mars 50MW wind project and Jupiter 50MW wind project – were fully connected to the grid at full capacity, marking the completion of all construction tasks for the projects.

Both projects are located in the Kostanay Region of Kazakhstan, at a latitude comparable to that of Mohe in China. The area is covered by winter snow for nearly half the year, making the effective construction period extremely tight. Facing multiple challenges including extreme cold weather, long-distance transportation, and local ESG requirements, the project management team employed a range of effective measures such as meticulous planning, scientific control, and dynamic risk prevention to successfully achieve each milestone target.

The projects feature a total of 16 wind turbines, each with a unit capacity of 6.25MW, bringing the total installed capacity to 100MW. Once operational, they are expected to generate 400 million kWh of electricity annually and reduce carbon emissions by 400,000 tonnes per year.
With the official grid connection of the Mars and Jupiter projects, the renewable energy projects that the company has built in Kazakhstan are now effectively boosting the development of local clean energy.
