On July 24, Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and his delegation visited the 100MW solar power project invested and constructed by Universal Energy in the country.

At the project site in Gobustan, the project manager of Universal Energy briefed Minister Shahbazov and his delegation on the overall progress of the 100MW solar power project. Currently, the project is ready for power transmission, and all construction work is proceeding in an orderly manner as scheduled.
Minister Shahbazov acknowledged the project's construction progress. He stated that the smooth advancement of the project would actively contribute to optimizing Azerbaijan's energy mix. He added that the Azerbaijani side would continue to support the project's construction and welcomed Universal Energy to participate in more investment and cooperation opportunities in future renewable energy projects.

As the first renewable project in Azerbaijan awarded through an open tender, the 100MW solar power project was successfully won by Universal Energy during the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in 2024, beating out seven other leading global renewable energy companies in a competitive bidding process. The project is nearing completion and grid connection. Once operational, it is expected to generate 180 million kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to reducing local carbon emissions by approximately 146,520 tonnes per year.
