Universal Energy Completes Another 50MWp Photovoltaic Power Plant in Kazakhstan

At 17:58 on June 26, through remote cooperation between the Chinese and Kazakhstan team, UE's another PV plant-the Kaskelen 50MWp PV Power Plant connected into the grid. This project is a milestone achieved during the epidemic period. The experience gained by the project team has positive significance to the fact that the cause of fighting COVID-19 would be a long-term process.

The project was launched in August 2019 and the project team has overcome difficulties such as failure in lines of communication with Kazakh design institute, freezing cold construction environment in winter and then the challenges brought by the COVID-19.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 this year, the flights have been cancelled, the project management team in China and suppliers were unable getting to the site to manage the equipment debugging, construction quality as well as material storage. And thus the team set up a remote management method, which is to train the on-site worker through video conferences and written installation instructions to have them completed the electrical installation and accepted work from subcontractors while sending back videos for supervision. Putting much efforts on remote guidance , the team eventually managed to put the plant in operation on time.

Kaskelen 50MW PV Power Plant is listed as one of the Key Projects under Sino-Kazakh Capacity and Investment Cooperation Initiative, After its completion, the project will generate over 70 million kWh of green energy and reduce carbon emission by 63 thousand tons.
