UE's power plant in Kazakhstan receives Chinese and foreign visiting delegations twice

On May 28th, the Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao and the Education and Youth Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government organized more than 50 award-winning teachers and students from the 14th Macau Youth Diplomacy Knowledge Contest to visit UE's Kapchagay 100MWp solar power plant.

Under the arrangement of the Chinese Consulate General in Almaty, the visiting delegation visited the power plant area on site, observed photovoltaic equipment up close, and gained a deep understanding of the operating principles and green applications of photovoltaic power generation. A student from Macao said that the "the Belt and Road" initiative had been put forward for the tenth anniversary. It was a great honor for him to be able to come to Kazakhstan to witness the green development achievements of Chinese enterprises on the spot, and hoped to have the opportunity to participate in the green energy cause in the future.

During their stay in Kazakhstan, Chinese Ambassador Counselor Xing Fangfang and Consul General Jiang Wei met with the visiting delegation and exchanged ideas.

Subsequently, on May 30th, after the conclusion of the 2024 Central Asian Climate Change Conference supported by the World Bank, UE's Kapchagay 100MWp solar power plant was designated as a visiting point for the conference, once again attracting the attention of industry experts from participating countries. After visiting, experts expressed that the power plant not only had good operational and management capabilities, but also contributed an important force to Kazakhstan's response to climate change and promotion of green transformation.

Kapchagay 100MWp solar power plant is one of the largest photovoltaic power generation projects in Kazakhstan, and has achieved a breakthrough in the local large-scale new energy power station from scratch. Since its connection to the grid, this power plant has received widespread attention from both domestic and foreign sectors. Among them, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the "Belt and Road" in 2023, many mainstream media such as People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, Guangming Daily, Global Times, China Economic Herald and so on focused on the power plant, and UE's green development achievements became media publicity cases.

Nan Yi, Chairman of UE, said that the enterprise would adhere to the concept of green development and contribute more wisdom and strength to the high-quality construction of the "Belt and Road" and the transformation of the global energy structure by more "small and beautiful" green energy projects.
